Annointed Beauty Daily Devotions Ministry

As we approach the Christmas holiday, many are running around trying to pick the perfect gifts for their loved ones. Sale! Sale! Sale! is posted in every window and the checkout lines wrap around the store. In all this frenzy I can’t help to wonder whether we have forgotten what this season represents.

Has Christmas become so commercialized that Christ dropped out of Christ-mas?

Although putting a smile on our children’s face on Christmas morning is a good reason to shop this season, we must remember why we are celebrating. Let us sit our children down and tell them the true Christmas story. It’s not just about santa squeezing through the chimney, it’s about a baby boy who would give up his life for them to make it to heaven. It’s about a baby boy who would be laid in a manger surrounded by cattle. It’s about a baby boy whose birth was foretold by a star. It’s about Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, there are also those who would much rather debate over whether or not Christ was born on the 25th, whether Christmas trees are pagan, whether santa exist, etc. The truth of the matter is WHO CARES? Christ was born and that is all that matters to me. Let us not get so caught up in the semantics that we forget the reason for the season.

I pray that God blesses your family and bring you joy and happiness in the upcoming New Year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For unto us a child is born, for unto us a Son is given, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
