Annointed Beauty Daily Devotions Ministry

Well, today is my 30th birthday and I have decided to stay home from work. As I stand here cooking up some birthday pancakes, I am so grateful that God has blessed me with another year and three decades of life. He has guided me, protected me, provided for me and loved me through my entire journey.

I may not be where I want to be, but when I think about where I use to be and where I could have been, I am grateful I am where I am. All too often we let what we don’t yet have keep us from seeing what we do indeed have. I may not be married, I may not be a mother but I am alive, a child of God, a leader, I have an blessed purpose, a loving man, crazy crew of friends and caring parents. Therefore, I will praise God for what I do have.

As you go through this year, thank God for everything you do have. Don’t get clouded by the enemy’s banner of have nots. Remember that God know what you are in need of and will provide daily for what you will need to get through. Everyone of our steps are ordered by the Lord and he never, NEVER skips a beat.

I am going to praise Him for my birthday and thank Him for His goodness towards me. I will keep a song in my heart and a hallelujah on my lips. He is awesome and faithful. He never fails and I will press on towards my prize! Onward and Upward for my Lord is leading my life.

Happy 30th Birthday to me!

Living in New York City requires a fast-paced multi-tasking spirit. Everyone is always rushing somewhere. Excuse me, EXCUSE ME! is all you hear as people rush past you nearly knocking you over to get to their destinations. Fast, fast, fast, rush, rush, rush, that is the mantra of today’s society. Because of this, we rarely get a chance to stop and see the glory of God in our surroundings. The birds of the air, the blooming flowers, etc. all declare the glory of God.

He created everything around us to bring us joy and happiness. One day as I headed to the office, I stopped at a light and looked up at the beautiful skyscrapers and it dawned on me that God gave someone the wisdom to design these beautiful structures. Every beautiful thing around you God had a hand in. God even has a hand in your ability to do your job.

Never allow yourself to get to the point where you forget who is running the show. Take some time out to see the majesty of God in your surroundings. Breathe in right now! That right there is a gift from God. Without it, you’d be six feet under. Thank Him for His amazing love and mercy.

As you go throughout your day, resolve to take the time to look for God in the little things. He is everywhere and in everything. Praise Him today with your appreciation and thankfulness.

Be blessed!

Ah! It’s morning. WAIT! OH NO! IT’S MOVING DAY. I scramble to gather together the last minute things as we wait for the moving company to arrive at 8am. An hour into it, I realize a sense of sadness has come over me. I ask God why do we have to move again. I feel like we are on a lifelong pilgrimage with no prospect of a resting place.

I remember the message by Beth Moore last night. “Don’t you let nobody shake your God confidence.” I picked up the Bible and turned to Hebrews 10:35, 36.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised

The Bible speaks a lot on perseverance, endurance and pressing on. The Christian walk can sometimes be treacherous and seem insurmountable. However, verses like this remind us that God sees our challenges and He promises to “richly reward” us if we persevere. Today the enemy tried real hard to break me and cause me to question God and ask Him “What are you doing? Where are you?” But, I am reminded that I shall overcome. He promised that I shall run and not be weary. I shall walk and not faint. I will soar like an eagle but first, I MUST persevere.

My friends, I was impressed to share my experience as today’s devotion. Some of you are wondering whether God will ever come through. You put on your I have total faith face and smile like all is well. God wants you to know that He hears your cry and understands. He is working it all out for your good and if you persevere and faint not, you will see the rewards of your labor.

Stand strong in the Lord. I am. I am following His lead wherever He leads me. I know His ways are not my ways but His plans are perfect and for my good. Today if you feel like you are going in circles, rest assured that God knows what He is doing. You will come out victorious because He has already won the battles.

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for being my refuge. Lord, help me to keep my God confidence and persevere through my trials. Knowing that all things will work together for my good….

All through my childhood years, I have always heard that we ought to be set apart and not conformed to this world. Although I understood what my elders were trying to relay to me, I also felt that they used the verse to keep us from mingling with the other denominations (but that’s a matter in and of itself). I was watching a sermon one night and the speaker used the same verse but put a twist to it that I have never heard before.

What he translate this verse to mean was that there are many Christians who have become expert Chameleons. They have learned how to conform in every environment. In the club they drop it like it’s hot, then in the church they praise Him like their crazy. They spend the week cursing up a storm, then at church they teach that Sunday School class like they’ve been at the feet of Jesus all week. It is true that we ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. However, this is no excuse to live a Chameleon lifestyle.

God has called us to be TRANSFORMED and not conformed. When you are transformed, you change the atmosphere wherever you go. When you are conformed, the atmosphere changes you. GET IT? As Christians, we are the salt and light of the world. We are the ones who ought to be changing the atmosphere. We ought to be the ones bringing change to the world and NOT the other way around. Whenever you get in an environment where you are being conformed by the atmosphere, that is your queue to LEAVE!

The Bible calls us “(But) you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” -1 Peter 2:9. Therefore, we are to act and live like we are a special people. By special I in no way mean EXCLUSIVE or CULTISH. Although we are called to be a separate people bringing change to the world, we are also called to be an inclusive people who share the Gospel message with all who would hear.

Today, think about your environments, your friends, job, family, etc. Are you living a transformed life or have you become a professional Chameleon Christian? If so, isn’t it time you decide to change your lifestyle and live a life that glorifies God. I have always been one who tries to please everyone. One day, I woke up and realized that I was tired of trying to conform to everyone’s expectations. I realized that being ME is who God created me to be and if someone doesn’t accept me as God created me, then I am still going to love them and continue to be ME.

Resolve to be an authentic Christian WHEREVER you go. If you can’t be one where you are going, then don’t go. If you can’t be one around that person, stop hanging around them. Whatever will keep you from being true to God and inheriting the Kingdom, CUT IT (THEM) OFF. Be transformed as of today!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

Prayer Prompt:
Dear Lord,
I am tired of trying to be everything to everybody. I am tired of trying to conform to all of my environments. Lord, transform me and teach me how to bring change to all of my environments. Give me the courage to walk away from the atmospheres that jeopardize my walk with you….

Father, I want….., Lord, please bless me with….Jesus, when will you…. When it comes to requesting things from God, humans are experts especially Christians. We ask and ask and ASK. Then we quote scriptures and ask and ask and ASK some more. We commit to memory the verses “ask and it shall be given unto you – Luke 11:9 ” and “whatsoever you ask in my name if you believe, you will receive it. – Matthew 21:22”

Oh yes, we know how to ask. One thing we don’t know how to do is let Him answer in His time. We don’t know how to WAIT. We complain then we ask again because He obviously forgot. I mean He must have forgotten because I have been asking for ages. As Christians, we must learn how to make our request known unto the Lord and then WAIT on His perfect will.

I have always said “God ain’t no santa clause, don’t come to Him with a give me give me give me attitude. Haitian Christians have a saying, Bon Dye se granmoun, li fe sal vle le li vle. This translates to God is an adult. He does what He wants WHEN He wants.

No matter how much pleading or begging you do, you must realize that you are coming before the Sovereign God and so we must reverence Him. You may ask Him for things, but reverence Him enough to respect the fact that He will work it out in His time. We always assume we know what is best for us. That thing you are pleading with Him for may be great, but if He were to give it to you now it would be your demise.

Some of us have become consumed by our desires that they have become as gods. We musn’t forget that our God is a jealous God. We are not to have no other gods before Him. When you are consumed by anything else, it has become a god in your life and God won’t have it.

Whatever petition you have made to the Lord let God be God. Trust Him to bring what is best for you to pass. Notice I said BEST for you. You can and will never know better than God for He holds your life in His hands and sees your future. You do not know what your future holds and therefore can not possibly know what is best for you. Therefore, you need to rely on Jesus and TRUST HIM! If you feel that you can no longer wait, HOLD ON TO JESUS! He will hold you in His arms and help you to make it through.

Our desires must be placed on God’s altar and left to His discretion. By placing your desires on the altar, you are telling God, Father as much as I want this, I don’t want it more than you. Sacrifice your desires for the perfect will of God my friends and you will see amazing things happen.

You shall have no other gods before me. – Exodus 20:3

Prayer Prompt:
Dear Lord,
Teach me how to wait on your perfect will. There is nothing on this earth that I desire more than you. You are the air I breathe, it is in You that I have my being. Lord, teach me how to wait on your perfect will for You hold my life in Your hands and You know what’s best for me. I place my desires on the altar and release them to You. Have thine way Lord, Have thine way….

Have you ever seen a child who gets caught doing what they’re not suppose to be doing? If they have some form of consciousness, they will shiver in their boots and start crying right away without you ever having to say one word. My niece is notorious for this. The minute you say “Kailah”, she starts pouting and is one step away from tears. Most of the time, I end up hugging and playing with her to show her that I still love her.

As I ponder on this, I am the same way when it comes to God. I am my harshest critic when I do something wrong. I will beat myself up about it all day. I can’t believe I did that. What is wrong with me? Sorry God. Please don’t turn away from me. See what I mean? By the time I am done with myself, God is still standing there waiting for me to shut up so He can hug me and say you’re forgiven.

I get so caught up scolding myself that I end up having a pity party all by my lonesome. Pity parties are notorious amongst women especially. Everyone has a man but me. I am not pretty enough. I can’t believe I am turning 30 and not yet married (that last one there is me.)

Many of you can relate to this. Self-guilt and pity parties can cripple you and they are exactly what the enemy uses to keep us from seeking God. He tricks you into thinking that God is this villain that pounces on you the minute you fail and doesnt give you what you want because you don’t deserve it. THIS IS SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH. God is a merciful Father who loves us greatly and forgives us when we come to Him with a sincere heart. He is not an angry villain waiting to destroy you the minute you fall. He doesn’t hold back your blessing because you are a sinner. If this were true, humanity would be extinct and no one would ever get any blessings.

The Bible says ALL have sinned. Not some, ALL. When we fall short of God’s will, we need to ask for forgiveness, get up, dust ourselves off and get back on track. King David was a prime example of someone who knew how to keep on keeping on with God. Though David committed some of the gravest sins – murder, adultery, envy, etc. – he knew how to win God’s heart. David had a repentant spirit and sought God every time he fell short. David asked for forgiveness and then went on to praise God.

He didn’t have a pity party, he didn’t spend excessive time beating himself up. He went straight to God, asked for forgiveness, made his petitions known and went on keeping on. As Christians we too need to develop a spirit of repentance, learn how to forgive ourselves and make our petitions known to the Lord and trust Him to fulfill them. God loved us enough to send His Son to die for us. Therefore, we should not let the enemy condemn us or keep us from His throne.

I am turning 30 on February 22nd and I AM PROUD! The enemy kept me from seeing the blessings I have received by having me focus on one thing that I do not yet have. Don’t let that scoundrel keep you from counting your blessings. Today, I am counting my blessings and I am celebrating 30 years of life in advance. As a matter of fact, I bought myself my first birthday gift today. (Isn’t it pretty?)

When the enemy tries to throw you a pity party, turn around and COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS! I guarantee before you get to number 7, you will be dancing and shouting Hallelujah.

I don’t know what you did this week or this morning that the enemy has you beating yourself up for. I dont know what accomplishment you haven’t yet completed that he is throwing you a pity party for. I have come to let you know that God has already paid the price for your sins and He is working on your blessings. All you have to do is confess, ask for forgiveness, forgive yourself, accept yourself, make your petitions known to Him and keep on keeping on. Remember, a saint is not one who has never fallen, but one who has fallen and gets back up again.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus – Romans 8:1

Prayer Prompt
Dear Lord,
I’m sorry for falling short of your will. I am sorry for focusing more on what I don’t have than on what you have blessed me with. Please forgive me and help me to forgive myself. I know I am not perfect but I know if I keep on keeping on, you will help me to come out victorious….

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7

I work as a Project Specialist/Manager for a New York City technology firm. Part of my job requirement is to certify in a number if different industries and specialties. I have been doing great so far. However, there was one specialty that I was shying away from and that was Q & A training. I had put in my mind that this was hard and that I wasn’t ready to certify. I would black out at every preparatory training and shiver in my boots everytime someone asked me a question on it.

I took a few days off from work to handle a few personal matters and conveniently missed my last scheduled Q & A Certification. Yesterday was my first day back and I was happy that no one asked me to reschedule the certification. After some thought, I realized that I was almost the last one on the team to be certified. Everyone was getting this done and I was crippled with fear. I decided to take action on this and emailed my supervisor and asked him to schedule me for tomorrow @ 10am EST.

“Today is the day!” I said to myself as I walked into the office this morning. I sat down and immediately logged into the repository and printed the review information. 15 minutes into my review, I realized that this was easier than I thought. 10am was quickly approaching and I was getting more and more confident. “Hey Drew”, I said as I greeted the certifier. “Let’s Begin!” he said. 28 minutes later, the following team email was sent.

Rachel is Q & A Certified!

Great work!

Your form has been posted to the PS Exchange.

Keep up the good work!

AB

As I looked at the email, I thought to myself “What was I so scared of?” It was much easier that I made it out to be. The enemy does this to us quite often. There are so many things that you could have accomplished, but the enemy paralyzes you with fear. He fills your mind with incorrect information that cripple you with fears that have absolutely no true foundation.

The Bible tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus and therefore should face every challenge with the confidence that we will overcome. When negative thoughts threaten to keep you from achieving a long time goal, rebuke the enemy and step forward with faith. “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13 (NLT)

What goal have you put on the backburner due to unwarranted fears? What vision are you delaying because you’ve allowed the enemy to cripple you? Whatever it may be, take it up again and ask God to help you GET IT DONE!

My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid. – Haggai 2:5

Prayer Prompt:
Dear Lord,
Please help me to overcome my fears by trusting in you. I have allowed him to keep me from fulfilling my dreams and I am ready to step out in faith knowing that You will see me to the finish line. Heal me from my paralysis and turn these fears into testimonies for Your kingdom….
